Water, sewer, and curbside collection are billed quarterly. Here's exactly what you pay.
Water rates (quarterly base + consumption)
Water bills include a quarterly base rate plus a consumption charge for water used above the free-included threshold (residential dwellings only). Multi-family and commercial properties pay per cubic metre on all flows.

Sewer rates (quarterly base + consumption)
Sewer charges include a quarterly base plus a flat per-cubic-metre charge applied on all flows.

Curbside collection (quarterly)
Garbage, organics, and recycling collection are billed separately and added to your quarterly utility bill.

When bills are due
Utility bills go out quarterly and are due 45 days after the end of each quarter.

Water and sewer rates are set by Council each year through the Water Regulations and Rates Bylaw and the Sewer Regulations and Rates Bylaw. The most recent versions are published in the City's bylaw directory.
