Site Feedback
Tell us what's broken, missing, or just hard to use. Every report gets read by a real person.
Pick a category
Each one opens a pre-filled email with the right subject line and a few helpful prompts.
Accessibility barrier
A page or document doesn't work with assistive tech, or you ran into a barrier of any kind.
Content error or outdated info
Wrong phone number, old fee, stale date, missing department.
Design or usability suggestion
Something hard to find, confusing layout, idea for improving the site.
What makes a feedback report useful
The single most useful detail is the page address (URL). Past that, anything you can include speeds up the fix:
- What you were trying to do. “I wanted to renew my pet licence.”
- What happened instead. “The link to the form went to a 404 page.”
- What you expected. “I expected the PDF to open or download.”
- Your device and browser if it might matter (e.g. an iPad, an older Android, Safari, etc.).
- A screenshot if it's a layout or visual issue.
Tip
Reporting an accessibility barrier
What happens after you send it
Reports come into City Hall and are routed to the department best placed to act on them. Accessibility barriers are prioritized. If you include a reply email, someone may follow up, response times vary depending on the issue.
When this isn't the right channel
Some asks need a different door. Use these instead:
- Service request (pothole, broken streetlight, garbage missed): use the Request Hub or call Civic Works at 250-555-0140.
- Bylaw complaint: use the bylaw violation report.
- Council feedback: write to Mayor and Council. Note that letters become part of the public record.
- Freedom of Information request: see the privacy policy.
- Emergency: call 9-1-1.
Why this site exists
The site is being rebuilt to put residents first: plain-English content, mobile-friendly, accessible by default, and fast on a Highlands-rural cell connection. Your feedback is how we know if we're actually meeting that bar.
