Wildfire resilience
Silvermere adopted its Community Wildfire Protection Plan in 2020 and an updated Community Wildfire Resiliency Plan (2025) is now in place. Three Silvermere neighbourhoods have been recognized as FireSmart Neighbourhoods:

- Lindmar Estates
The City offers free FireSmart assessments May through September. Email firehall@silvermere.example to book one.
Extreme heat and air quality
The City has funded three air-quality and cooling shelters for use during extreme heat events and wildfire-smoke periods. Real-time air quality is tracked through provincial monitors, and the City posts advisories through Silvermere Alert during severe events.
Annual climate reporting
The City publishes Local Government Climate Action Program (LGCAP) Annual Reports for 2022, 2023, and 2024. They're available through the City's Reports & Plans section.
