Parks & Green Spaces
From the lakeside loop at Lantern Bay Park to the old-growth cottonwoods of Cottonwood Point, Silvermere's parks shape how people live here.
Lantern Bay Park
100 5th Street. Lantern Bay Park features three swimming ponds, beaches, soccer fields, a volleyball court, a pavilion with a concession and picnic tables, paved walkways, a bike park, a dog park, and a walking trail. Year-round washrooms are available at the Pavilion. The park is also home to the region's tallest play structure, which opened in June 2024. It's the City's most-used outdoor space and the obvious answer for “what should we do this evening?”
Cottonwood Point
901 7th Avenue. One of Silvermere's best-loved heritage walks. A wooded point of old-growth cottonwoods on the Silver Lake shore near The Narrows, where the lake pinches narrow between the mountains. Shoreline pathways, benches at the water's edge, ancient pit-house depressions, and the restored Chapel House, the last of the point's original homestead structures still standing. It's the place every Silvermere local takes out-of-town visitors.
Good to know
An easy, all-ages walk
Cedar Flats Park
2501 14th Avenue. Cedar Flats Park anchors the Cedar Flats neighbourhood, with washrooms and year-round community use. The City's seasonal outdoor skating rink is on the back side of the park.
Crane Memorial Park
Crane Memorial Park honours the Crane family, early Old Mill District residents who donated the land to the City. The original Crane Memorial Pool opened on the site in 1959 and was filled in when the new Aquatic Centre opened in 1991. The park remains as a playground and picnic area, with public consultation for a renewal beginning in 2024.
